Before joining Riley & Riley, attorney Daria B. Janka practiced with a major local defense firm litigating cases concerning catastrophic loss, construction, employment, commercial disputes, premises liability and dram shop liability for insured and self-insured entities. Before that, as an associate for a mid-size firm in Atlantic City and Cherry Hill, Ms. Janka litigated auto and truck accidents, premises liability and contractual indemnification matters.
While in law school Ms. Janka interned for the Honorable Renee M. Bumb, Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, assisting the court with Social Security appeals, class actions and personal injury claims.
Ms. Janka graduated Rutgers University cum laude in 2008, and Widener University School of Law in 2012. She also holds a Masters in Trial Advocacy (LL.M.) from Temple University Beasley School of Law, awarded in 2018.
During her time at Widener, Ms. Janka served as president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and was honored with the school's Outstanding Service Award. At graduation, Ms. Janka was distinguished for her pro bono work. Ms. Janka is admitted to practice law in the state of New Jersey, State of Pennsylvania, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Janka is a first-generation immigrant in the United States and she is fluent in Bulgarian and French, and conversational in Russian. She was most recently selected in a survey of her peers as a New Jersey "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers in 2019.
